Altered Book Sculptures

Our 8th grade Upcycle Unit featured an Altered Book Project that was allowed students to recreate a scene within their favorite book using book pages and other materials. What we did not expect from this project, in addition to the incredible use of materials and creativity, was the sporadic "Book Talks" between students and the sense of community in the classroom as classmates shared a common love for reading and sharing with others what they have read.
