Lit and Art Exhibit: Connecting Literature and Art

In the winter our school celebrates cool events like The Big Day of Reading and Poetry Out loud. The Big Day of Reading is an entire day that 6th-8th grade students participate in reading activities. Poetry Out loud is a school wide recitation contest. Wanting curriculum to have both content and cultural connections, I created Lit and Art Units for the 7th and 8th grade classes. The art work from these units culminate into a Literature and Art Exhibit that becomes the backdrop for The Big Day of Reading and Poetry Out loud. here are pics from this year's exhibit!
